Description
A superb early tall Georgian ale glass.
Engraved with ears of barley in saltire. hop leaves and flowers which unusually form a single integrated design (they are more commonly separate engravings). This is a good dark glass example with excellent tooling marks from when the bowl was blown and shaped. Conical folded foot. snapped pontil. English lead. no chips cracks or restoration.
It measures 7 1/4 inches with a2 ¼ inch bowl and 2 1/4 inch foot.
