A truly outstanding example of a Georgian Wrythen Ale glass c1800.
It has a large deep bucket bowl with full sharp wrythen moulding. Shoulder blade knop above a huge central angular knop above a plain foot with polished pontil.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 6 ½ inches tall with a 3 inch bowl and 3 5/8 inch foot. way over the standard !
We have included a group picture of this glass next to two standard sized ale glasses to give you some perspective of the fine and relative proportions for this glass. Has excellent balance and sits comfortably in the hand. made to be used and enjoyed although this will grace any period glass collection. It is without doubt the finest wrythen ale glass we have ever seen and offered for sale.
