Description
An excellent Georgian Ale Glass c1780 which has a drawn elongated round funnel bowl which is very appealing. It has prism cut swags suspended from engraved bows supporting pendants. Conical foot snapped pontil.
Almost certainly from Ireland with similar examples are to be found in the National Museum of Ireland with identical cutting and engraving and are attributed to Cork. A most unusual glass and the first ale glass we have had with this cutting pattern in 12 years.
Lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 6 ¼ inches tall with a 2 1/8 inch bowl and 2 3/4 inch foot.
