Description
A superb Georgian Balustroid Gin Glass which dates to c1740.
It has a Bell bowl engraved with ears of Barley with a solid section at the base. Sits on a double ball knop stem above a conical folded foot which has a rough pontil. It stands 4 inches tall with a 2 5/16th bowl and a 2 1/4 inch foot.
A superb example.
It has a ‘tiny’pin prick on the inside rim which you can just see in the main picture. One of the disadvantages of selling on line is that you have to mention everything and as such most buyers make the assumption that a “pin prick” means a gouge out the bowl in reality…however we guarantee if you walked into an antique shop to purchase this…you wouldn’t even notice and it most cases it would not be mentioned as its so small and its such a nice glass that it really doesn’t matter…certainly at this size it does not affect value. In order to have a succesful online business integrity is of paramount importance.
