SOLD – Six Georgian Engraved Port / Wine Glasses c1800

Description

A beautiful set of six Georgian Regency Engraved Port or Wine Glasses c1800.

They have conical bowls that have been finely engraved with fruiting vines and have slice cuts to the lower section that continue down the stem. Conical feet with snapped pontils.

English lead. no chips cracks or restoration to any glasses. this is an excellent set made at the cusp of the century. They measure 4 ½ inches tall with 2 ¼ 9inch bowls and feet.

Please remember that back in the early 1800’s wine was more exclusive than it is today and as such the bowls were smaller than modern wine glasses. Today they would be ideal as port or spirit glasses.
