This is a cup bowl rummer and as was always the case the purpose of the gklass is denoted by the engraving. One could argue that this was an ale glass. It would certainly be ideal for barley wine and some of those lethal Belgian beers fermented by trappist monks . This is the second “Tunstill” glass we have offered for sale. They were most probably engraved for a marriage or anniversary . Tunstill is a name we are advised originated in Essex. If anyone can find the appropriate marriage or anniversary please do let us know.
