Bowl : Bell-shaped with solid basal section. Engraved with a damask or alba rose with one closed bud. This is the work of engraver D according to Seddon’s methodology

The closed bud is a mirror image of those attributed to engraver D. The veins in the rose leaves terminate before the toothed margin. This is also absolutely consistent with engraver D and the differing serrations on the upper and lower leaf margins themselves affirm that
The damask rose was introduced to Britain from Damascus. via Italy as early as the 15th century. The multi petaled Alba rose was known since the Roman occupation and is associated with the House of York. The Alba Maxima variant is known to this day as Bonnie Prince Charlies Rose.
