Decoration : Egg shaped with attached ring for chatelaine. Parcel gilt interior with a three reel silk bobbin. The centre of the bobbin with cover is an internal needle case. A silver thimble and 12 pierced holes for pins. Gilded interior. Push button release.
Size : 5.5cm length. 3.2cm diameter
Condition : Excellent. Light signs of wear

This is a ingenious piece of Victorian engineering from Henry William Dee. It is unsurprising. given that Dee made his name making chatelaines. that the piece has a ring to allow attachment to said item. Please note that the black spot below the button is a screw head. This secures the interior lining and is present on all examples, it is NOT a repair
