Decoration : Rounded and flat-ended lid with Floral Berlin Wool-work motif set in Golden Satinwood. within floral band and two pairs of banded keylines; floral Wool-work frieze to the four flat sizes. again within two pairs of banded keylines and with Golden Satinwood veneer; orignal burgundy silk lining to interior. with utensil-holding loops on an applied band. probably for manicure items
Size : 24.1 cm wide x 9.4 cm deep x 7.8 cm high
Condition : Very good; very few missing tesserae; what look like very old repairs to bumped edges and a corner of the base – a missing. thin shard of wood about 55mm long and 2mm at its widest point has been replaced
Restoration : Old repairs as above; The box has been professionally cleaned and polished.
