Decoration : Rectangular whitewood box with painted basket of flowers to cover and foliate banding to side panels. Original pink paper lining.
Size :  26.6×20.4cm. 7cm height
Condition : Lacks key. otherwise minor wear

In the time before the tesselated mosaic which Tunbridge ware is generally associated with. painted whitewood boxes were a common theme for the Tonbridge / Tunbridge Wells manufacturers. This was most likely painted in Tonbridge by one of a team of ladies who were employed by Wise et al to decorate their wares.
