Decoration : hinged two-part box; panel of classic Tunbridge Ware isometric cubes to the lid, with a narrower band of the same to the four sides; chequerboard mosaics around the lid, with narrow geometric bands bounding the side panels; green needle cord lining; made from 10,000 individual tesserae

Notes : this particular box is made from decorative elements consisting of eighteen different woods set in to ebony veneers; signed and dated to the bottom - ROBERT VORLEY 2010.

 Mr Robert Vorley is the only current exponent of Tunbridge Ware worthy of the name, and worked with absolutely authentic, period methods of manufacture. Now in to his eighties, the work of this former architectural model-maker will never be surpassed.
