Decoration : Flat topped with an image of Berlin Woolwork Pansies & Leaves set in Satin Birch with Continuous Keylines. To the four square sides. a band of Geometric Pattern within Banded and Continuous Keylines; Satin Birch body; Red satin lining; green baize to base. Has a rounded and raised stickwork escutcheon.
Size :  15.4 cm wide. 15.4cm deep x 5.9 cm high
Condition : Excellent; slight cracks to lacquer on top face; very minimal loss of tesserae. some very old repair around the escutcheon – may even be imperfect original manufacture; slight expansion gap on two of the corners; satin lining is not original; working key; residue of possibly original paper lining to the edges of the inside lid; small pieces of wood have flaked off where one hinge is screwed in to the lid frame. but this does not affect the external appearance or the structural integrity
Restoration : The box has been professionally cleaned and polished and relined
