Heading : Tunbridge Ware Three Drawer Jewellery Cabinet with Floral Berlin Woolwork designs

Decoration : To the flat top surface. a Floral Berlin Woolwork design set in Golden Satinwood within Continuous Keylines and further Banded Borders surrounding a narrow floral band; these external bands are set at an angle to create chamfered edges; the four sides all have a geometric patterned border within banded borders; the two doors to the front also have Berlin Woolwork Posies within Golden Satinwood surrounds; the three internal drawers – made to different sizes – are faced with patterns inside banded borders. and have turned stickwork handles; the whole. with coromandel body. sits on four bun feet; green oak tesserae are used throughout
Size : 20.3cm wide x 15.3cm deep x 17.8cm high
Condition : Very good with regard to tile completeness – there very few tesserae missing; cracks to the lacquer along the bottom joint of both smaller side faces; a small gouge just below the keyhole to one door
Restoration : Professionally cleaned and polished
Weight : 1324g
Notes : The profile of the top surface. the use of three drawers to varying dimensions and the application of the four bun-feet are all very similar to another cabinet which is labelled as having been produced by Thomas Barton. This would also be commensurate with the extensive use of green oak tesserae.
