Decoration : Bird eye maple box with amboyana edging inset with abalone and shell designs and vacant brass cartouche. The interior with plush vlevet lining and a vanity mirror. Tray with 13 compartments including one large one with cover. Tray lifts out to reveal two further compartments. There is a button to the interio which when pressed releases a leather lined writing slope with two inkwells and a pen tray.

Condition : Excellent. minor scuffs and wear. Working lock and key
Restoration : There is a small area of restoration to the front of the box to the bottom right hand side. A 0.5cm section of veneer has been restuck
Weight : 3682 grams
We have waxed lyrical in the past about our love of Victorian over engineering. this is yet another beautiful example of the genre.
