Decoration : Flat topped with aPerspective Cubes pattern set in Continuous Keylines; further Banded and Continuous keylines frame a small foliate border. To the four square sides. a band of Berlin Wool-work with roses and leaves within Banded and Continuous Keylines; Coromandel. with the original paper lining. No escutcheon .
Size : 20.4 cm wide. 15.3 cm deep x 8.1 cm high
Condition : Excellent; slight cracks to lacquer on top face; almost no missing tesserae; there is some loss of wood around the hinges internally. but this does not affect the integrity or structure of the box and is not visible externally;
Restoration : A replacement pair of screw to the one hinge. The box has been professionally cleaned and polished.

Notes: The choice of wood from which the Perspective Cubes have been made on this piece is exceptional. featuring eye-catching grains and knots; it also features green oak tesserae in the floral lid-band. and the central element of the Cubed pattern is also made from this material.
