Decoration : Flat topped with an uncommon image of Warwick Castle set in Golden Sycamore. Banded and Continuous Keylines and a Geometric Border. To the four square sides. a band of Stylised Fern Berlin Woolwork within Banded and Continuous Keylines; Rosewood body. with violet satin lining. Has a plain. raised escutcheon.
Size : 24.3 cm wide. 9.0cm deep x 6.9 cm high
Condition : Very good; slight cracks to lacquer on top face; very minimal loss of tesserae. other than around the escutcheon which may be an old replacement; very minor repairs to Fern band on three of the four corners; satin lining is not original; a couple of small. shallow gouges to the front face of the lid
Restoration : None. The box has been professionally cleaned and polished.
