Condition : Good; two pairs of missing tesserae; lacquer is a little patchy in places

Note: This simple little puzzle box bears one distinguishing mark in that the triple continuous keyline border around the mosaic is seen on examples labelled for the maker Childs & Son of Brighton. working from their 51 Kings Road location – a premises which was occupied. and producing labelled pieces. from 1844 to 1873; this identification is in no way conclusive. but persuasive nonetheless in the absence of pieces featuring the same pattern which are labelled for other sources
