Decoration : A plain rectangular box with a lift-off lid with inlaid cribbage board; this features multi-coloured. banded key-line stringing and a central floral Berlin Wool-work mosaic. and a small. turned handle; internally. three compartments and ledged sides on to which the lid sits; lined with original paper both inside and to the base
Size : 27.2 x 8.8 x 5.4 cm
Condition : Excellent; slight warping to two of the larger tiles to one end of the lid. and some losses to one length of the banded key-line stringing; very minor staining to the lining paper
Restoration : none
Weight :  532 grams

Notes : the lining paper and almost complete lack of green tesserae in the wool-work identify this as a product from Edmund Nye’s workshop. before the influence of Thomas Barton became too prevalent; it seems to have had very little use. and must have been carefully stored. as it is in immaculate condition; we have included half a dozen cribbage pegs and two sets of playing cards so play may begin as soon as you secure your board !
