Decoration : Cover for ink tray decorated with a central berlin woolwork floral mosaic with charactersistic green oak set within geometric border. The other  two comarments with geometric star designs within geometric borders. The side panels decorated with scrolled floral berlin woolwork banding.
Size :  27.4×18.5cm. 14.7cm height
Condition : Excellent. some minor scrfatching and a little lifting but all images crisp and clear.
Restoration : There is a small area of restoration to the front right corner of the top of the piece.
Weight : 1108 grams

This is undoubtably a Thomas Barton design. It is within the realms of possiblity that it could have been made while Barton was still head designer at Edmund Nye’s manufactury. although we have seen remarkably similar examples (though not of this quality) with Barton labels.
