Decoration : Geometric patter bands around all four (round cornered) sides; further bands set in to the upper face and a ‘barcode’ band around the inkwell stand itself; the two stamp boxes each have an image of a Penny Black stamp within geometric borders and continuous keylines to the lift-off lids; a broad. scalloped pen holding recess to the top face; the body stands on four bun feet. and the base is covered with the original marbled paper.
Size : 20.8cm wide x 11.1cm deep x 5.0cm in height
Condition : Excellent; very few missing tesserae; the body is solid and undamaged with the exception of a tiny flea bite to one edge; one of the feet also has a couple of small nibbles. but both are to the ‘inside’ edge and are therefore hidden from view
Restoration : Professionally cleaned and polished.
