Decoration : Central tmosaic image of Victoria within keylines. gemetric border also within keylines. The side panels are decorated with a geometric pattern.
Boxes of this nature. featuring lettering – POSTAGE – ONE PENNY – in addition to the queen’s head were made almost without exception by Henry Hollamby and his ‘successors’ Brown. Knight & Kemp; this would appear to be an earlier Hollamby version. and features an image of Victoria made from exceptionally small tesserae – exquisite work.
Size :  3.5x4x2cm
Condition : good – alittle wear and small areas of lifting but the image and the patterns are clear. A small (3mm) slither missing from the corner of the box closest to the top left of Victoria’s image
