In the definitive reference work on the subject of Tunbridge Ware Brian Austen attributes the Tunbridge ware image of the Pantiles to Henry Hollamby c1880. The fact that this specific item has a Thomas Barton ( late Nye) label must bring this into question. The frame he also attributed to Edmund Nye or Thomas Barton. It is entirely possible that the image was created by Henry Hollamby and framed by Thomas Barton. With the above in mind the date range 1870- 1880 is entirely within reason
