Decoration : Inlaid Geometric pattern within an octagonal border of banded keylines and miniature VanDykes to the top of a lift off lid. which pushes snugly on to a rebated rim to the bottom section
Size : 7.9 cm in diameter x 1.5 cm deep
Condition : Excellent; very slightly warped so the two halves do not sit entirely together
Restoration : Cleaned and polished
Weight : 32 grams
Note: These small round boxes are relatively commonplace. and the degree of intricacy to the designs varies from simple to very complex; this example sits somewhere in the middle. but is enhanced by having the ‘miniature VanDyke’ triangular detail; the very slightly oversized nature of the banded keylines hints that it may come from the workshops of Boyce.
