Heading : Tunbridge ware stamp box with Victoria ‘Young Head’

Decoration : Central image of Young Head in profile. Framed with stringing and micro mosaic border with tesellated POSTAGE – ONE PENNY to top and bottom. respectively. The sides of the base and lid with chevron banding in three coloured veneers. These were made almost without exception by Henry Hollamby and his ‘successors’ Brown. Knight & Kemp; this would appear to be an earlier Hollamby version. and features an image of Victoria made from exceptionally small tesserae – exquisite work.
