Heading : Very rare Tunbridge ware writing desk and sewing companion by Fenner

Origin :Tunbridge Wells, Kent
Decoration : Cover decorated with stylised floral mosaic within a geometric stickwear border. Front panel with two mosaic birds flanking a stylised floral mosaic, again within a stickewar border. Side pannels with vandyke triangles and stickewear banding. The back panel with stickware banding. Leg decorated with geometric mosaic and stickwear, as is the foot. Various internal comparments include a writing slope along with inkwells and pen tray. Two drawers pull out at the side panels, and a silk lined sewing basket which pulls out from the front. Fenner label dates this piece to the late 1830s.
Size : 76.4cm height, 48x38cm
Condition : Excellent – some minor lifting to the cover and throughout but nothing signficant -a little wear to the central mosaic. A truly remarkable survivor in this condition.
