Following the Franco-Prussian war and the German occupation of large parts of Alsace and Lorraine were occupied. The Muller family already has experience with both engraving and enamelling glass and found employment with Galle.

They opened their own business in 1895. The pieces produced by the Muller brothers are among the best of their kind. only perfect examples were released to the market. Examples of this stature are rare.
