Condition : Excellent; very slight wear to the base; lip and rim perfect
Restoration : None
Weight : 914 grams

Note : Both names are given in Marcilhac; 'fougères' being the French for ferns, and 'espalion' being a town on the River Lot - the name being of uncertain provenance, attributed only to Charlemagne who - disappointed at not having arrived at his intended destination - is said to have remarked "n'est ce pas Lyon ?"
