Frederic Vidal i Puig ( Barcelona . 1882 – 1950 ) was a furniture craftsman . cabinetmaker and glass maker ^.

Son of the cabinetmaker Francesc Vidal i Jevellí . inherited the work of his father. but adapting to the new times and to the new tastes of the clientele of the time. In 1898. his father sent him to London to train at the Cloisonné Glass Company in London . where he spent a year. bringing the cloisonne stained glass technique to his father’s studio . an innovation of great impact and short duration. that production only ranges from 1899 to 1904. Vidal workshops not only produced flat glass windows for doors and windows. but all kinds of decorative objects such as lights. screens and furniture. 

In 1904 Vidal Puig marched to Argentina where he lived 9 years. When he returned he abandoned all artistic activity. He did not know what his activity was during the South American stay. although a stained glass shop announced cloisonne stained glass in 1914. which suggests that he could have handled the technique to local artisans. 

From the workshop of his family. different furniture and decorators came out like Antoni Rigalt . Gaspar Homar and Santiago Marco . disciples both from Casa Vidal.

Of its production. some 20 pieces of furniture such as screens . signs. lamps and a 4-sheet glass door and almost three meters high were conserved in the National Art Museum of Catalonia . which was carried out approximately between 1899 and 1904 for the house of the industrialist Eusebi Bertrand i Serra on the Paseo de la Bonanova in Barcelona.
