Bowl : Ovular conical shape. Alternating bands of polished and acid cut frosted glass. In the frosted sections there are raised polished gilded poppies, in the clear section there are recessed poppies. The stamens on the sunken poppies are raised and polished with gilt detail, on the frosted poppies they are sunken and frosted with cranberry detail. The quality is extraordinary - the work of a master.
Pontil : Polished - incised and gilded Daum Nancy signature with the Cross of Loraine.

Condition : Very good, no chips or cracks. A little limescale residue in the base

This is a truly stunning piece of early Daum art glass, they only started producing art glass after Antonin Daum's 1890 illness. The quality is extra ordinary and the attention to detail is a mark of a truly obsessive, and talented artist.
