Additional Information : Friedrich Deusch had his process for silver overlay patented in 1895. He is often mistakenly identified as the inventor of the art. However. the first patent was grated in 1879 and Stevens and Williams were producing silver overlay from the early 1890s. His name is however the most highly regarded within this sphere.
