Bowl Features : This shape is that of a greek Lydion. This was itself inspired by earlier Egyptian pottery. Mottles yellow and orange with red orange and blue collar
Marks : Incised signature Schneider on the foot.
Type : Intercalaire. Coloured powdered glass between two clear layers

Additional Information : There is no doubt that this was inspired by the major discovery of the early 20th century. When Howard Carter opened the tomb of Tutenkhamun in 1922 it did far more than increase levels of interest in Egyptology. The impact on decorative arts of Tut-mania was to last for decades.
