I can fully understand why people would have such a little glass restored. This will have been a favourite for a tipple and dense scratches or a little chip or two will have been unsightly. With high value glasses it is invariably the case that collectors want glassware to look its best and dealers will restore glass and some go to great lengths to disguise this. Outright theft is less easy to disguise and we will be exposing this in due course.
