Description

Some collectors ambitions are restricted to perfect examples only. These are highly sought after and attract a hefty premium. This glass has all the period features. tooling mark. metal colour. wear and fire polished rim that collectors want to see. The foot is a full inch larger than the bowl. another feature of such a type of period glass. It does however have a minor bruise that is 1/4 inch in length and 1/8th inches in depth at its maximum. This is not a chip. it is not  a crack and it cannot be felt. it can only be observed when held into the light.

This is a Georgian double series opaque twist ale glass that dates from c1760. The stem is very thin and elegant and features a vertical gauze with a pair of spiral tapes around  .It stands 7 3/4 inches tall. The bowl is 1 7/8th inches and the foot is 2 7/8th inches. If you would like this to be restored we may arrange this for you. it will result in the foot becoming 2 5/8th inches rather than its full size. but still substantially larger than the bowl. The cost of restoration will be around £25 and it will then be a restored glas rather than the unrestored glass that it is

Without the bruise and in original condition this glass would be worth fully £300.
