Condition : No chips or cracks. There is a thread of glass on the upper foot and a black sooty particle with an associated small nodule of glass. This is from manufacture
Restoration : The underside of the foot rim has been recontoured and polished. This is a standard part of the modern process for removing a chip from the footrim. The foot rim is first ground, them polished and the underside of the foot rim is then polished underneath to reduce the thickness of glass to give the appearance that the new foot rim was the original any artificial wear is applied.*
