This is an uncommon variant of an ale glass that would usually be engraved with hops and barley. This was almost certainly intended for barley wine rather than “little beer”. The restoration undertaken is our preferred method. The glass maintains it’s integrity and the restoration cannot be obfuscated with artificial wear. It becomes visible with ultra violet lamps.
