Heading : Caughley Cabbage-Leaf Moulded Jug with Five Fisherman Vignettes

Marks : underglaze blue S and ‘x’ marks to base
Origin : Caughley. Shropshire; England
Colour : Underglaze blue transfer-print
Pattern : The ubiquitous Fisherman pattern. reproduced in its entirety three times. then in two separate scaled-down pieces to make two further vignettes

Features: moulded face-mask to spout; cabbage leaf moulding to body; moulded ribs and decorative border to neck.
Condition : Excellent; no chips. cracks or flakes; very small nick out of the foot-rim edge; printing crisp and clear for the most part (one of the smaller vignettes and the border to the inside of the rim are a little over-inked); a few spots of kiln-spit to the underside of the base

Dimensions : 18.9 cm high – 12.7cm diameter at widest point
