This bronze depicts Mary calling the cattle home. The poem was based on folklore from the Wirral and the story itself inspired an early 20th century film of the same name.
O Mary. go and call the cattle home.
And call the cattle home.
And call the cattle home
Across the sands of Dee;’
The western wind was wild and dank with foam.
And all alone went she.
