Imperial & Royal Porcelain Vienna Coffee Service c1780
Consisting of a coffee pot. a hot water/ chocolate pot. sucrier. six cups and saucers. They are decorated with painted cornfowers with a blue band and gilding. The coffee pot. chocolate or hot water pot (they may alternatively be used for cream) and sucrier have atrichoke finials in a deep pink. The cups have neo-classical stepped handles. There is some rubbing to the gilding on the cups and there are minor chips to three of the saucers. A pieces have the “Bindenschild” mark and painter’s marks in underglaze blue.
The coffee pot stands 24cms tall and the other 19cms. They are baluster shaped with applied feet. We have been asked to “split” this into its components but we have to refuse. They need to remain together and to be used.
