Decoration : Brass bound box with stylised floral brass borders and banding to both front panel and cover. Interior with lift out tray with green leather and padded velvet lining, this is above another lift out tray with leather lining which is above a padded velvet lined base. Backboard velvet lined and reveals a document storer behind. Document holder with rococo gilding and “EDWARDS, MANUFACTURER TOHIS MAJESTY, 21 KING ST BLOOMSBURY LONDON’. Lock by J Bramah – a sign of high quality as Bramah was famed for developing an unpickable lock.

Size : 36.5×26.5, 15.8cm height

Condition : Very good – there is a fine crack across the cover which is stable and does not detract from appearance – otherwise, minor age related wear only. Woking lock and key.

Restoration : Some of the velvet has been relined.
