Additional Information : Cornish-born Todd was primarily an art teacher, moving in to the profession after WW2,, during which he had been commissioned by a government agency to depict 'the Home Front' during the conflict. He was almost exclusively renowned for his sketched figures and life drawings, from glorious chalk renderings of ordinary folk going about their business, to more formal, fully-coloured portraiture of the great and good of middle England.
