The same diminutive sweetmeat dishes are known from the very early 18th century. They evidently became less fashionable as the century progressed. The conical foot and absence of a fold is a good evidence that this was produced in the second half the the 18th century. The neoclassical engraving was not fashionable until 1760 and it would have been more elaborate if engraved in the latter few decades of the century.
