Description
A large Georgian Regency wine carafe c.1820.
It has a wide pouring rim with slice cuts down the neck which also has a triple annulated knop to help one get a safe grip the heavy carafe . Bulbous body with a plain applied foot which has a polished pontil.
English lead. it measures 9 ¼ inches tall and holds in excess 1 ½ bottles of wine or better just one bottle with room to breathe. A gentleman’s weight.
Some very minor scratches to the bowl and minor residue but overall its one of the best we have had in many years and would look great on any dinner table.
