Additional Information : The cracked of lip has been fire polished and the glass has thickened as a result. The bore has also been widened. There is a horizontal tooling mark where the next was held whilst the lip was formed. We have located several examples with seals dating from 1764 to 1793. hence the date range. On very close inspection. there is an annealing crack measuring 5/8th inches on the interior of the bottle. This has not come through to the external surface of the bottle. There is no external bruise or damage. This is obviously stable and it is difficult to observe under normal lighting conditions. It holds four bottles of wine with ease. The largest period example we have offered for sale in 13 years.
