Description
A Bohemian Enamelled Glass Spirit Decanter which dates to c1800.
Ruby flashed and more commonly found with fruit and vine engravings rather than enamelling.in this case. hand pained flowers and scroll work. Original moulded mushroom stopper with gold gilding . Two applied neck rings (not moulded examples) and appealing white and yellow enamelling around the main bowl.
The underside of the stopper has a few fleabites which is excellent as they are frequently chipped over the years. Outside that Ive shown the pouring rim in some detail as it looks like a chip but is actually just tool marks where the rim was finished. No chips. cracks or restoiration
It measures approx. 7 ½ inches tall including the stopper and the decanter would have been used for liquors or spirits rather than wine.
