Description
A truly stunning and quite rare pair of Georgian Glass wine carafes c 1810.
They have wide pouring rims and necks (much wider than a decanter which allows the wine to breathe) and would never have had stoppers. One for white and one for red. Fantastic design incorporating multiple cutting styes with slice. prism. facet and diamond cut panels. Polished pontils to the base.
English lead. a few small insignificant grazes and a few small nibble to some of the cut edges where they have rubbed against each other. no chips cracks or restoration. they measure 7 ½ inches tall and approx. 3 ¾ inches in diameter.
They will easily hold a standard 75c bottle of wine and provide room to breathe.
