SOLD – Irish Georgian Glass Master Salt c1820

Description

A Georgian Irish Glass Master Salt c1810 with a rolled overturned notch and cross cut diamond rim. Prism and further cross cut diamonds above a slice cut stem and square foot with cross cut squares on the underside. Numerous exampes are in the standard literature. Irish Glass- Phelps Warren plate 87 being but one.

Lead glass. it has a few small nibbles to the edge of the overturned rim just where the deeper cuts meet the rim between the diamonds and is almost certainly from the time of manufacture. it coud not be done during use. Also a very small nick on the underside of the neck as shown and the square corners of the foot. This is all very minor as this is an outstanding example.  

It measures 3 2/8 inches tall with a 3 inch bowl and  1 6/8 inche foot.
