Pair of Georgian Diamond Cut Lidded Jars c1830

Bowl : A filed of cut diamonds above stepped prismatic mitre cuts. The cutting on the cover mirrors the cutting below and has a a finial cut with diamoonds
Stem : Terraced pedestal
Foot : Thick low conical
Pontil : 32 point hand cut and polished star cut,
Glass Type : High lead
Size :  18cm height, 9.5cm diameter bowl, 8cm diameter base
Condition : Excellent, one small nibble to one of the finials 
Restoration : None
Weight: 2100 grams

It is difficult to say whether these are English or Irish. They are very heavy and have a grey blue hue indicative of high lead content. The hue is associated with Irish glass from the period, though this is not enough to say they are certainly Irish. The cutting is of a very higher standard thus may have been undertaked in North-West England. Probably either honey or preserve jars.
