This comes from an English country property and has been within the same family ownership for atleast three generations. Baskets such as this were first produced in Italy and Liege and the low countried in the last 17th and early 18th century. The same technique was also used in Bristol to make Liegeois style baskets.

Extensive reasearch over the last 40 months has not made significant progress. We have taken the concensus approach from several museums to whom we have submitted images and detail.
