These types of glasses were listed by contemporary retailers at the time of manufacture as ‘Monteiths’. There were much larger wine glass rinsers with undulating rims first produced in silver in the late 17th century called monteiths. These glasses were intended for jelly or custard and for sets to be displayed on fashionable pyramids of desserts and were used as table salts.

Nowadays these attractive glasses are used to serve spirits. Adapt and modify. the key to longevity.
