Description
A superb large Georgian glass punch bowl c1830. It has a notch and cross cut diamond everted rim with stepped prism cuts below. The lower section of the bowl has swags of cross cut diamonds and facet cuts above a cut knopped stem and stepped star cut square foot. The prismatic cuts with fields of strawberry diamonds and plain vertical pillars is a signature associated with Waterford
This superb piece of glass would have taken pride of place at a Georgian table and held punch which would have been distributed via a ladle into punch cups. with handles.
Lead glass. it has a few chips to the corners of the square cut foot as would be expected wiht this form. No other chips cracks or restoration. I few small grazes and some minor scratches internally.
It measures 8 3/8 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter. It weighs 3kgs unpacked and will be 5kgs packed thus postage outside the UK must be considered. We would ask you to contact us for a quote before purchase.
